Unlock Geo-Level Shopper Insights with Amazon DSP & AMC
How to Get Geo-Level Insights with Amazon DSP + AMC
You can’t see where your shoppers are coming from with Sponsored Ads.
But with DSP + Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), you can.
Here’s a simple way to do it:
Step 1: Build 3 Audiences in AMC
Inside Amazon AMC, create 3 separate groups of people based on what they did:
Searchers – people who searched for your keywords but didn’t click.
Page Visitors – people who visited your product page.
Cart Abandoners – people who added your product to their cart but didn’t buy.
Now you have a full picture, from people just looking to those almost ready to buy. Amazon DSP
Push these audiences into as separate campaigns.
Step 2: Use DSP to See Where These Shoppers Are
Once the campaigns are running, open your DSP geo reports. You’ll see performance broken down by state, city, or even pin code.
Here’s what each audience can tell you:
Searchers – where interest is coming from.
Page Visitors – where people are actively considering.
Cart Abandoners – where people are closest to purchasing.
This helps you spot high-potential regions and fix ones that are underperforming.
Step 3: Check These Metrics by Location
Look at these for each audience and location:
Reach & Cost per Reach
Clicks & CPC
Conversions
Revenue
ROAS or ACOS
Detail Page Views & Cost per View
Add to Cart & Cost per Add
This shows where your ad spend is working and where it’s not.
If a region has lots of views but few sales, check for: Slow shipping or stock issues. Fixing this can make a big difference.
You can refresh these AMC audiences daily (if big enough).
Make this a weekly habit:
Refresh your audiences
Run/update DSP campaigns
Check geo reports
Adjust your strategy
This gives you real insight into what’s working, by location and by funnel stage.
It’s not about more data. It’s about better targeting.
